Alastair Whybrow, of Southend, Independent State of Caledon, died December 19, 2014 when his typist succumbed to cancer. He was born on July 28, 2008 in Southend. Proprietor of Sparkle of Sound, Fine Costume Jewelery, also Whybrow's Old Curiosity Shop and "Beyond the Veil" art gallery, Mr. Whybrow was known for his wide-ranging knowledge of music and history (especially of Britain), and his fine sense of humour and terrible puns. Quaintly formal, he was a stickler for proper Victorian manners and forms of address, but eschewed titles, including his own, making sure he was just shy of qualifying as a Peer of the Realm. Mr. Whybrow was a staunch supporter of Relay for Life in Second Life. Above all, he was a loyal and kind friend, who took in a penniless orphan, Miss Valerie Bluebird, and made her his Shopgirl. Mr. Whybrow was predeceased by his uncle, Arthur Showboat. Memorials may be rezzed on a parcel in Southend, and a Memorial Service will be held in Southend at http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Caledon%20SouthEnd/132/36/24 on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at noon SLT.
